Introducing Constellations, A limited edition series of Resonators by Kate Mueller

Atria is the first Resonator in Kate Mueller’s limited edition Constellation series. Its name is taken from the radiant Atria star within the Triangulum Australe constellation—three bright stars form a striking triangle in our night sky. The crowning center piece, a perfect triangle set within a total of 22 mirrors, creates a spectacular celestial experience.

Step into Atria: A Constellation of Reflection.

The inspiration to name this series, of Resonators  after constellations was obvious. This is Atria. Most of my work references the stars. To loosely paraphrase  Plato’s Timaeus: the stars are our teachers. The stars taught early humans math in learning how to divide time by solstices. They gave us wonder and ritual. It’s a human tradition this is carried each time we look up.

You can imagine that you are a time traveler when you are looking at the light from a star whose shine may have taken sixteen thousand light years to reach you.

I feel like I am able to connect with different aspects of myself. With these resonators, I am reaching towards seeing things from a different perspective. Imagining a Birdseye view of myself in this moment in time …”and opening a path of inquiry into the nature of the universe and my role within it.”
