About the Exhibition

The Standing Now presents new work by Kate Mueller exploring connection outside of time. Expanding on her ongoing installation series, String of Light That Connects All Things, the exhibition brings the expansive sensibility of her shoreline installations into the gallery through immersive new sculptural works.

Mueller's practice occupies a unique space between public art, environmental installation, and street art. Existing largely outside the traditional gallery model while operating within permitted frameworks, the work retains a radical spirit—prioritizing accessibility, direct public engagement, and site-specific experience over conventional exhibition structures.

One and a half years into String of Light That Connects All Things, The Standing Now is an intimate exploration of time, mathematics, and the astronomical references central to the work. The exhibition extends this investigation indoors, inviting viewers to collapse distance and consider time not as a sequence of measurements, but as the absolute simultaneity of all moments.
